Social media is abuzz with screenshots of invitations sent to participants in the pilot program for this feature, which allows viewers to add brief explanatory notes or corrections to specific video content.

YouTube first announced the Community Notes feature in June, aiming to improve the accuracy and understanding of video content, especially with the upcoming US presidential election.

Although no official launch date has been provided, YouTube has added a section in its Help database to assist users in writing and submitting Community Notes.

The pilot program is currently available only to English-speaking mobile users in the United States. Participants are being chosen through email invitations or notifications within their Creator Studio accounts.

YouTube plans to gather feedback from these initial testers to fine-tune the feature and establish criteria for classifying notes as “helpful,” “somewhat helpful,” or “unhelpful” before a broader release.
